Waiting for Mr. Right

I work the night shift at a power plant. The other day for a meeting, someone had brought in fried chicken from a grocery store deli to share with the crew. While everyone munched contentedly, I thought to myself, "I'm a little hungry, and it looks somewhat appealing, but I think I'll hold off for now."

Not 30 minutes after the meeting ended, an announcement came. Someone else in the shop had brought in homemade crock pot chicken and mushrooms, slow-cooked in chardonnay and garlic, with rice. It was very tasty.

It's a good thing I didn't spoil my appetite with the first choice. God whispered to me then and there, "That's what I'm up to, Heidi. I'm saving the best. Just a little bit longer, and it will be ready for you to enjoy."
